Green Bay, Wisconsin, will soon be home to a ruggedly unique shopping experience when the first-ever ROCKY Outdoor Gear of Green Bay store opens its doors. This new store will allow consumers to experience the complete spectrum of Rocky products.

Matt Olson and Tony Wied, Green Bay businessmen, will own and operate this new venture. Olson and Wied operate several other retail businesses in the Green Bay area and are excited about owning the first ROCKY Outdoor Gear store. “I’m eager to get the store completely up and running. The Rocky brand is growing at a rapid pace and has a strong appeal to outdoors and working men and women in this region,” stated Olson.

Mike Brooks, president and CEO of Rocky Shoes and Boots, Inc. commented, “Green Bay is ideal for this first concept store. The store is a conscious effort to build the brand within an area that is already home to thousands of loyal Rocky enthusiasts. With Tony and Matt’s expertise and the targeted demographics of Green Bay, we’re confident of their success with this new venture.”

To enhance the unique shopping experience, this 8,000 square foot store will feature fully interactive product-testing stations. In the footwear departments, customers can test boots on a ramp simulating mountainous and real work terrains. The apparel section will contain ladders and treestands and additional equipment providing real life situations to test the fit and comfort of the hunt and work garments.

To ensure an informed shopping experience, shoppers will be greeted by a fully trained and educated sales staff and an array of self-guiding in-store displays that feature technical information for each product. According to Brooks, the displays, design plans and overall atmosphere of this new store will be the template for future locations. “This is an initial pilot store. With our current line extension strategy, we view this as a way to make the Rocky brand, ‘head-to-toe’, more available to our brand loyal consumers in selected markets”.

ROCKY Outdoor Gear of Green Bay is scheduled to open on Sept. 2 and is located just off highway 172, just north on the County GV exit.
