According to multiple published reports, the National Rifle Association has confirmed that the San Francisco Housing Authority is preparing to drop it blanket handgun ban in public housing.
An Associated Press report noted that NRA lawyer CD Michel said the agreement hasn't been finalized, but if the settlement is approved as expected, the housing authority will allow public housing tenants to keep legally obtained handguns.
The AP reports that the NRA sued the housing authority a day after the Supreme Court rejected a gun ban Washington, D.C. and ruled that individual citizens have a right to keep handguns.
