REI ranked first in Forbes America’s Best Employers For Women list.
In its third annual ranking of the best employers for women, Forbes collaborated with market research firm Statista surveying 75,000 Americans, including 45,000 women, working for businesses that employ more than 1,000 workers. The respondents spanned 31 industries and were asked to share their opinion on a series of statements about their respective employer’s culture, opportunities for career development, image, working conditions, salary and wages, and diversity.
Employees were surveyed during March and April 2020, just as COVID-19 started to spread across the country.
REI jumped 20 places to grab the top spot with a score of 87.6, according to Forbes.
The remaining companies in the Top 10 were Unilever, Ulta Beauty, The Hartford Insurance, Coca-Cola, Keller Williams Realty, The Estée Lauder Companies, Best Buy, Clovis Unified School District Education, and Zurich Insurance Group.
Other firms participating in the active lifestyle space on the Top 200 ranking were Designer Brands, the parent of DSW, at 14; JCPenney, 92; Vail Resorts, 109; Hibbett Sports, 114; Nordstrom, 139; Topgolf, 149; Foot Locker, 163; Nike, 177; and PVH (Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein), 200.
