REI Co-op will open a new store in Billings, MT, in spring 2020. The new 22,000-square-foot space will be located at Shiloh Crossing and offer a specialty bike shop for maintenance and repairs.

“Billings is an incredible outdoor community and we look forward to further connecting our local members and visitors to their favorite outdoor places and activities,” said Janet Hopkins, REI regional director for the mountain region. “Whether our members are hiking one of the area’s many trails or road tripping along the scenic Beartooth Highway, we can help them plan any kind of adventure.”

REI Billings will offer a range of programs to connect people to a life outdoors. A national leader in outdoor experiences and education, last year, the co-op helped more than 350,000 people across the country get outside and be inspired to lead an active lifestyle through a wide range of classes, tours and events.

In addition, REI actively works with nonprofits to steward local trails and public lands and connect people to the outdoors. This year, REI invested $63,000 in Montana’s outdoor community and has a longstanding partnership with the National Forest Foundation, which is based in Missoula. As REI gets closer to opening in Billings, the co-op plans to invest further in the local outdoor community.  REI Billings marks the co-op’s fourth location in the state, joining existing stores in Bozeman (144 miles), Missoula (345 miles) and Kalispell (435 miles).
