REI Co-op announced that its adventure trips have expanded to include domestic multiday excursions, guided day tours, rentals, and adventure center locations, and its experience offerings grew more than 60 percent in the last 12 months.
Among the new programs, this month, the retailer opened its doors to a Bay Area Adventure Center in Richmond, CA with bike, paddling and camping gear rentals. REI said it would soon launch bike and e-bike rentals at Fisherman’s Wharf for cycling along San Francisco’s waterfront.
REI offers 124 multiday adventure travel trips led by local professional guides. In 2022, it added 22 new trips to its travel opportunities, of which more than half are hiking and backpacking itineraries. REI continues to offer day tours and educational programming in 14 cities.
