“Crafted by hard work, our Authentic Sweat Shirt gives you that post-workout look & smell,” read a post on Reebok’s Twitter feed.

Reebok responded to Nordstrom selling a $425 pair of mud-caked jeans with a practical joke featuring its own ludicrous – although in this case entirely fictional – apparel item.

The now-infamous Nordstrom jeans were touted as having what the retailer called “caked-on muddy coating.”

Sensing an opportunity to capitalize on the social media firestorm stirred up by Nordstrom, Reebok posted on its website a “Reebok authentic sweat shirt” with actual sweat stains it described as “for those who don’t have time to put in the real work.”

“Crafted by hard work, our Authentic Sweat Shirt gives you that post-workout look & smell,” read a post on the company’s Twitter feed. Although the shirt was described as “sold out,” it was never actually for sale.
