About 33,100 helmets manufactured by Sakar International and sold under the Credhedz Lizard Helmets, Crayola Dry Erase Helmets and Tony Hawk labels are being recalled.
The helmets do not comply with the positional stability and retention system requirements of the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission’s (CPSC) federal safety standard for bicycle helmets. The helmets can fail to protect the head in a crash. No injuries have been reported.
The products were sold at Big Lots, Ollies Bargain Outlet and other stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com from November 2020 through October 2022 for about $30. Consumers should immediately stop using the helmets and contact Sakar for a refund in the form of a $30 gift card. Sakar will include prepaid postage packaging to return the helmets. The company asks that the helmets not be returned to the retailer and is contacting all known purchasers.
