Flo Cycling LLC of Las Vegas is recalling bicycle wheel rim tape provided with about 800 wheels because it can fail and break under pressure. When this happens, the inner tube of the bicycle can puncture or burst. This poses a fall hazard to the rider.
The company has received four reports of exploding inner tubes and flat tires. No injuries were reported.
The rim tape is a yellow plastic strip that was provided for free with the purchase of Flo 60, Flo 90 and Flo DISC wheels. The number 700X18 A/V is printed on the tape, which was manufactured in Taiwan.
