Dick's Sporting Goods announced recalls for lounge chairs and recliners and for pitchbacks sold through its stores last week.
The recall of 125,000 Lounge Chairs and Recliners came about after 19 reports of the chairs and recliners collapsing, including 17 injuries involving lacerations and back pains. The items were sold at Dick's Sporting Goods from February 2006 to August 2007 for between $40 and $80 and were manufactured by the Rankam Group Ltd., of China.
The pitchbacks recall involved approximately 57,000 Power Bolt Y-Frame and Ultimate Y-Frame adjustable pitchbacks, because the upper portion of the frame can collapse after both locking pins are removed, posing a laceration hazard. Dick's said it has received three reports of finger/hand laceration injuries. The Power Bolt Y-Frame Pitchback was sold from November 2002 to July 2007 for approximately $70. The Power Bolt Y-Frame Ultimate Pitchback was sold from February 2005 to July 2007 for approximately $100.
