About 32,505 Carhartt men’s Force Relaxed 5 Pocket work pants sold exclusively at Dick’s Sporting Goods were recalled because the elastic drawstring hem near the ankle of the pant could create an extended loop, posing a trip-and-fall hazard. No incidents or injuries were reported.
Customers who purchased the pants are encouraged to stop wearing them and return them to Dicks or Carhartt for a full refund. If customers want to keep the pants, they should cut the loops out of the hemlines and send a photo to Carhartt at just_ask_us@carhartt.com showing proof that they removed the cord to receive a full refund.
The recall involves product number 105222, which is printed on a tag on the inside seam near the waistband. The pants are made of 81 percent cotton, 16 percent nylon and 3 percent elastane, stretch twill and sold in gray and brown. The pants feature two front pockets, a phone pocket on the right leg and two back pockets, one with a zipper, and were sold in all sizes.
