RECALL: Atomic Alpine Ski Bindings

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Atomic Skis, has announced a voluntary recall of Alpine Ski Bindings. The recall covers about 125,000 units as well as an additional 1.0 million were sold outside the U.S.

The bindings were sold at authorized Atomic USA ski dealers nationwide from 1998 through 2005 for between $150 and $350.

The heel housing of the bindings can crack, causing the binding to release unexpectedly. The firm has received four reports of injuries, including a concussion and injuries to the shoulder and knee from falls.
