Rebel Sport Limited’s group statutory sales revenue for the half year ended December 31 increased by 13.5% to $183.9 million when compared to the year-ago period. The gain includes sales revenue from the Glue lifestyle stores. Sales on a same store basis increased by 7.1%.

Rebel Sport said the half year result was “very pleasing” and was bolstered by an exceptionally strong second quarter. Sales for the second quarter, which runs October through December, increased by 18.6% in total sales, and 11.4% on a same-store basis.

Inventory management is in line with expectations delivering an increase in trading margin for the period.
Rebel Sport said they are looking forward to the next six months and are excited by the impact that the Commonwealth Games and Soccer World Cup will have on sports participation in Australia. They think the Soccer World Cup in particular will inspire a lot of Australians to
support the Socceroos by purchasing supporter wear from Rebel Sport stores in the April – June quarter.

During the half year ended 31 December 2005, Rebel Sport opened six new stores located at Midland Gate and Rockingham (Western Australia), Shepparton and Fountain Gate (Victoria), Carindale (Queensland) and Mt Druitt (New South Wales). The store in Campbelltown (New South Wales) was relocated within the Macarthur Square Centre. A new Glue store was also opened in Tuggerah (New South
Wales).

Rebel Sport Limited currently has 62 Rebel Sport stores and 9 Glue stores. An additional Glue store is planned to open before June 2006 and negotiations on more Rebel Sport stores are underway.
