Rapsodo Inc., a leading developer of sports analytics technology, announces the hiring of sports industry veteran Art Chou as general manager–North America.

Rapsodo’s computer vision and radar technology was first launched in the popular SkyTrak launch monitors for SkyGolf. Their recently launched Pitching Monitors for baseball/softball have gained strong support from MLB and NCAA teams; Rapsodo Pitching Monitors are also used for player evaluation at Player Development Pipeline (PDP) events held by Major League Baseball (MLB), the Major League Baseball Scouting Bureau (MLBSB), and USA Baseball.

Chou brings over 25 years of sports tech/innovation experience to Rapsodo. His past positions include director of R&D for Titleist, president of Pixl Golf, technical editor for Golf Digest, and SVP of product for Rawlings. Most recently he co-founded and served as managing director for Stadia Ventures, an innovation firm that invests in and mentors sports startups. He will continue to act as a director for Stadia Ventures.

“We are extremely excited to add Art to the Rapsodo team”, said Rapsodo CEO Batuhan Okur. “His experience within the industry is a perfect fit to help us manage our growth in golf, baseball/softball, and other sports.”

“Rapsodo’s technology represents one of the greatest sports tech opportunities I’ve seen” said Art Chou. “Wayne Gretzky always said that great players skate to where the puck will be. The future of sports performance analysis lies in video and computer vision; I firmly believe that Rapsodo’s tech is positioned to meet this future head on.”
