Rapha, the U.K.-based cycling apparel brand, reported that William Kim had stepped down as CEO for personal reasons. He will be replaced by Francois Convercey and Daniel Blumire who were appointed as joint managing directors.
Kim started his role at Rapha in early 2022 after previously serving as CEO of AllSaints and also holding senior roles at Burberry and Gucci. He replaced Simon Mottram, founder of the 17-year-old brand. Mottram remains on Rapha’s board of directors.
“As you can imagine, this has been a very difficult decision for me to make,” Kim said in a note to Rapha staff attained by VeloNews. “Over the last year, I’ve grown to love the Rapha brand. Rapha is an amazing business, made of great people and a unique culture, a tight-knit community. You are each contributing to building a very special brand here at Rapha. It has been a privilege to experience how magical cycling is and I know you will continue to thrive and lead the industry.”
