Raen, an eyewear brand, introduced its latest creation, the Expedition Remmy. Building on the popularity of the Remmy frame style, Raen reimagined the design by incorporating a hood detail for enhanced eye protection.
“We are thrilled to unveil the Expedition Remmy, an eyewear innovation that captures the essence of adventure and pays tribute to the daring spirits of the past,” said Raen Co-founder and Design Director Jordan Percy. “By seamlessly blending the iconic Remmy style with the distinctive hood detail, we have created a truly extraordinary frame that offers both style and enhanced eye protection for the modern adventurer.”
The frame’s front shape is carved from a custom acetate block, measuring 20mm in thickness, involving the lamination of two 10mm acetate blocks, yielding a lightweight eyewear piece. Through advanced CNC machining, the 20mm-thick acetate block is carved into the front shape that defines the Expedition Remmy.
The Expedition Remmy is available in Recycled Black and Shasta Tortoise. The Recycled Black version features an acetate front with a 10mm + 10mm lamination, combined with Recycled Black acetate temples and a gold metal accent. The Shasta Tortoise version boasts an acetate front with a 10mm + 10mm lamination, complemented by Shasta Tortoise acetate temples and a gold metal accent. Both color options are finished with an “Expedition” Green polarized sustainable polyamide lens.
Expedition Remmy lenses shield against a range of environmental elements. With its anti-reflective protection, the AR Green backside coating reduces internal glare on the lens, enhancing clarity and comfort.
Further enhancing the lens’s capabilities, Raen incorporated Zeiss Ri-Pel Coatings, a treatment that offers a dual benefit—it is both olio and hydrophobic, fending off oily fingerprints with a beading effect on sweat, water and other liquids.
The Expedition Remmy is available on raen.com and at select specialty retail locations globally, including optical outlets.
