Quality Deer Management Association said Ryan Furrer of Vanderbilt, PA has joined the organization as its Northeast Regional Director. Furrer will support QDMA Branches and volunteers while promoting the formation of new Branches in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and the six New England states.

A lifelong native of southwestern Pennsylvania, Furrer is a passionate outdoorsman who has been employed in the hunting industry, operated a firearms and archery pro shop, and was a nationally competitive tournament archer.

Among other honors, Furrer was the 2002 National Field Archery Association's Men's Unlimited Indoor National Champion archer. He leaves the Heirloom Tomato Company – the largest grower and distributor of heirloom tomato varieties – where he oversaw sales, business operations, marketing and led a staff of 25 employees. “Like other QDMA members, I have a passion for managing and hunting deer and the QDMA's mission,” said Ryan. “I look forward to helping QDMA expand its reach in the Northeast.”
