Puma will drop a remix of its original Suede XL from 1986, which graffiti writers and B-boy crews embraced for their love of the silhouette.

Puma’s supersized Suede XL borrows its “rebellious inspiration” from skateboarding footwear in the ’90s and early 2000s. Extra-cushioned with over-the-top proportions, the Suede XL differs from the original Suede through its padded tongue, Formstrip, and ultra-wide laces, which harkens back to the aesthetics of Y2K skate culture.

Like the Suede Classic did in the ’90s, the latest Suede XL version “has found its home in the skateboarding scene,” thanks to its sturdy midsole and extra padding.

The Suede XL is part of Puma’s Rewrite the Classics collection, which celebrates Puma’s most timeless franchises and brings them to a new generation.

The latest Puma Suede XL will be available on August 16, 2024.
