Puma Golf signed Viktor Hovland to an exclusive shoe-only deal. The Norwegian golf pro has worn Puma’s Ignite Articulate shoe for over a year without a formal agreement.
“I started wearing Puma shoes because I really liked the style and comfort,” said Hovland. “Shoes are critical for me because I use my feet to read greens. I’ve worked closely with the Puma team to build shoes that perform well with AimPoint and are very comfortable.”
According to the Official World Golf Rankings, Hovland is the 6th-ranked player in the world. A standout at Oklahoma State, Hovland won the 2018 U.S. Amateur and reached No.1 in the Amateur Golf Ranking in 2019, when he also finished as a low amateur in the Masters Tournament and the U.S. Open.
Since turning pro after the 2019 U.S. Open, Hovland has won six PGA Tour events, including the 2023 Tour Championship, and two European Tour events, including the 2023 BMW Championship. Hovland also captured back-to-back Hero World Challenge titles in 2021 and 2022.
“We are extremely happy to welcome Viktor to the Puma Golf family,” said Dan Ladd, President of Cobra Puma Golf. “He’s one of the most talented and charismatic young players in the game, and we look forward to a long relationship. Shoes are very important to Viktor because he uses his feet to read greens. We have built him shoes that work for AimPoint but also look and feel great on the course.”
