Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) has named Milena Stephens as its new education administrative coordinator. In this position, Stephens will ensure every member has the resources to be fully prepared for a certification workshop or event.
She will serve as the liaison between hosts and participants to guarantee each has the best possible and most rewarding experience. She will also process cores and communicate with PTR members.
Stephens has been a member of the organization since 2011, and is a Certified Professional in all PTR education pathways. She grew up on the courts of her parents’ tennis club, where she started playing at age three; and as a junior player, Stephens reached No. 1 in her native Brazil. She earned a full athletic scholarship to play for Delta State University, and went on to earn her BA and then a master’s degree in sports management.
Stephens served a director of tennis at Cleveland Country Club in Mississippi. She also coached at Midtown Athletic Club in Weston, FL, where she discovered a passion for working with children.
“Milena brings experience, energy and passion to her new role,” said Brian Parkkonen, PTR COO. “Her knowledge and winning personality will provide PTR members the first class experience they deserve. Milena’s abilities both on and off the court made her the perfect candidate for the position. We are fortunate to have someone of her caliber joining the team.”
