Pro Feet has designed the “Miracle Sock” that will directly benefit the national Miracle League organization, a national baseball league for children with disabilities. The “Miracle Sock” will carry the Miracle League logo, and will be available in men’s, women’s and youth sizes at sporting good retailers and team dealers nationwide. For every pair sold, Pro Feet will donate 5% of its wholesale sales to the Miracle League.
“There are millions of kids with physical and mental disabilities who often are not given the opportunity to participate in a team sport,” said Russell Wilson, founder and CEO of Pro Feet. “At Pro Feet, we believe every child deserves the chance to be part of a team. That’s why we’re launching the ‘Miracle League Campaign.”
The Miracle League serves 80,000 young people with physical and mental challenges. Currently, there are 200 Miracle League organizations and 100 rubberized fields throughout the country. However, the Miracle League hopes to build 500 fields and have a Miracle League in every city, with the goal of serving 1.3 million children.
“Kids benefit in many ways from playing team sports, but not every child is given the chance,” said Russell Wilson, CEO of Pro Feet. “Through this partnership we hope retailers and dealers can come together as a team to help the Miracle League achieve its goal and give these kids the chance they deserve.”
Some retailers will be doing more than simply carrying the Miracle Sock in their stores. Many retailers will also be collecting donations, all of which will go to that store’s local Miracle League team or to the national Miracle League organization, and signing up teams of “buddies” to assist in Miracle League games.
