Snowsports Industries America (SIA) President Nick Sargent sent a letter to the snow sports trade on the morning of July 7 in preparation for the group to move their headquarters to Park City.
The move will bring them closer to Colorado, who will continue to be a long-time partner. SIA will also continue to monitor government affairs and will maintain a close relationship with our partner organizations in DC.
Sargent also explained that the much debated date changes for the Snow Show are still under deliberation by SIA committees, but that “it’s clear to me that the Show continues to be a valuable tool for suppliers and retailers,” Sargent wrote.
He also issued a call for show-goers to submit input and feedback.
One way being creativity around the trade show and another through committees, many of which SID is revamping. “The committees will serve as key information gathering bodies to inform SIA on important issues,” Sargent added.
The first committee SIA is re-launching is the Retail Committee. Teddy Schiavoni with Summit Ski and Snowboard in Framingham and in Westford, MA will be chairing that committee. As chairman, Teddy will serve as a liaison between SIA and the retail community, exploring opportunities to strengthen the relationship with retailers, as well as helping to ensure retail concerns are brought to the attention of SIA.
