Louisville, Colo., March 7, 2024 — TrainingPeaks, the industry-leading training app for endurance coaches and athletes, is now the exclusive training software provider for the German Cycling Federation (BDR).
TrainingPeaks will be used by BDR’s elite riders and their coaches for 2024 and beyond. The platform will also be available for all German Cycling members and regional associations at a discounted price.
“The common goal of this partnership is to create a standard for continuous improvement for our BDR elite squad. Partnering with the industry leader in training platforms positions our BDR national teams to achieve greatness,” said Clemens Hesse, BDR National Coach Knowledge Management. “We also wanted a platform that all BDR members could benefit from, and believe we have found a great alternative to our previous solution for all our coaches and athletes.”
Earlier this week, TrainingPeaks announced an exclusive partnership with the German Triathlon Union (DTU) as the official training and coaching software for the national governing body.
Dating back to 1884, BDR is the national governing body of cycling in Germany. The organization issues racing licenses, organizes development training for coaches and athletes, oversees races and undertakes youth work. The group is a member of the International Cycling Union (UCI) and the European Cycling Union (UEC) and covers nearly all disciplines of cycle sport, from road racing to BMX freestyle.
BDR coaches who are certified through the organization are eligible for a 20% discount on Unlimited Coach Edition, while all BDR athletes can receive 20% off an annual subscription to TrainingPeaks Premium.
“We’re grateful to German Cycling for putting its trust in TrainingPeaks as their official training and coaching service,” said Dirk Friel, TrainingPeaks co-founder and Chief Evangelist. “Germany has produced many Olympic and world champions and we are happy to support their efforts to produce many more. We’re honored to be the training software of choice for BDR’s high-performance team and licensed coaches.”
