Grand Rapids, MI — Amid record-setting sales numbers for the cycling industry as a whole, TerraTrike, the nation’s leading manufacturer of recumbent trikes, is celebrating its best month ever, with historic sales in May. Meanwhile, sister brands GreenSpeed and KMX are well-positioned to deliver inventory to new dealers looking to satisfy unprecedented demand.

With many bike shops sold out of traditional two-wheel bikes and unable to restock, recumbent trikes are helping dealers meet demand and keep their doors open. Bolstering these record sales numbers are the many advantages of trikes including much more comfortable seats, easier slow-speed handling and worry-free mounts and dismounts.

“With more and more boomers discovering TerraTrikes, our sales this year have exploded,” said Dave Hoss, owner of Barr Bike in Des Moines, Iowa. “There’s a shortage of comfort bikes, and more people are accepting the recommendation of a trike.”

TerraTrike’s best sellers in its record month of May were the newly designed Rambler and Maverick models, which just launched for Spring 2020, raising the bar for value in entry-level touring trikes.

While the cycling industry experiences significant shortages, TerraTrike continues to have inventory of its two most popular models, the Rambler All Terrain and the e-assist Rambler E.V.O. To replenish inventory throughout the line, TerraTrike is taking steps to expedite its product shipments through the rest of the year.

TerraTrike’s parent company, WizWheelz Inc., reports that its other trike brands – GreenSpeed and KMX – are well positioned with sufficient inventory to sign new dealers and meet demand in the current cycling boom.
