Ferndale, WA, September 24, 2019Superfeet, a 100% employee-owned company, continues its quest of making a positive difference in people’s lives by shaping a strong foundation. On Thursday, September 26, the company will host their second annual Giving Fair putting a portion of the organization’s giving decision in the hands of their employee-owners.

Last year employee-owners collectively donated $65,000 to causes near and dear to their hearts. This year Superfeet is doubling each person’s giving power, with every one of their 140 employee-owners receiving $1,000 cash to direct to causes important to them.

“Every day we strive to improve lives through the products we make and the causes we engage with,” explains Annie Quammen, Director of Human Resources. “The Superfeet team is comprised of individuals who believe a healthy, happy community is more important than a number on a balance sheet, and they’re proud to make decisions that will impact the direction of the business, including how and where our philanthropic efforts are used.”

The Giving Fair is funded by Superfeet’s 1% giving program, with 1% of consumer purchases earmarked to provide people the tools for a strong foundation by helping people shape a healthy future for themselves and their communities. There are four foundational areas Superfeet chooses to support:

  1. Basic needs
  2. Protecting the environment
  3. Self-confidence and pride through activity
  4. Education

Employee-owners can donate their $1,000 to any non-profit as long as it meets one of the requirements listed above. At their headquarters in Ferndale, Washington, Superfeet will host 17 local organizations selected by their Giving Committee for a 2019 local grant from Superfeet.  The organizations will be present onsite at Superfeet’s Ferndale headquarters where employee-owners will learn more about the awesome things they are doing to support their communities.

  • Max Higbee Center
  • Wild Whatcom
  • Unity Care
  • Whatcom County Boys and Girls Club
