Rab, the manufacturer of outdoor gear and apparel with sustainability and environmental awareness in mind, released a line of sleeping pads for the SS/23.
Founded in Sheffield, England in 1981 by mountaineer Rab Carrington, Rab designs high-performance mountain clothing and equipment, including sleeping bags such as the Mythic, Neutrino and Ascent. Now Rab is using its decades of experience to offer five new models of sleeping pads that provide comfort and packability.
“Forty years of crafting industry-leading sleeping bags have put Rab in a unique position to understand the needs of backcountry sleepers. And that means keeping them warm and comfortable,” said Jon Frederick, U.S. country manager, Rab. “We are excited to release these new models of sleeping pads to provide a new option focused on warmth-to-weight ratio at an obtainable price.”
Rab’s new models include:
- Ionosphere and Ionosphere 5.5, an ultralight option for alpine and mountain expeditions. Made with heat reflective TILT technology and 100 percent recycled Stratus R insulation, the Ionosphere is designed to maintain sleeping temperature, and its lightweight construction uses air and insulation for a premium warmth-to-weight ratio and minimal pack size.
- Stratosphere 4 and Stratosphere 5.5 offer 100 percent recycled Stratus R insulation and are designed to keep the user warm in all four seasons. Like the Ionosphere models, the Stratosphere features outer chambers that keep the user centralized on the pad and includes a pump sack for rapid and hygienic inflation.
- Exosphere 3.5 is a lightweight and self-inflating sleeping pad built with an X-Core foam, designed to make camp set-up super easy.
