Prana will offer a gender-neutral Outdoor Originals capsule collection for SS23 inspired by its heritage styles, timed with the brand’s 30th anniversary.
“In building this collection, the design team combed through Prana’s catalog archive and chatted with the Prana founders, Beaver and Pam,” said Prana President Monica Mirro. “The result is a capsule collection that pays homage to pieces from Prana’s early years and is inspired by the philosophy that all are welcome on the wall.”
The Outdoor Originals collection, with a color palette of yellows, reds and coastal blues, features more than ten styles, including the collection’s lead design, the Hurricane Full-Zip Fleece made with 100 percent recycled polyester. The collection also includes the Indio Heritage Short made with 100 percent recycled nylon using Bluesign-approved material, the Mantra Heritage Shirt and Mojave Pant made with organic cotton (shirt: 100 percent organic cotton/pant: 97 percent organic cotton).
In addition to the Outdoor Originals collection, Prana’s SS23 collection will release outdoor, lifestyle, yoga/active apparel, and swimwear featuring bold prints and colors inspired by Baja California and Mexico. Highlights include:
Versatile Hike
Prana’s outdoor pant series, ReZion, now includes ten men’s and eight women’s bottoms with elastic waist options and a hybrid short for men that can be worn in water or land, taking cues from its boardshorts. ReZion fabric is made with 95 percent recycled nylon in a Fair Trade Certified factory, is Bluesign-approved and UPF 50+ rated. The pants are treated with PFAS-free DWR.
Prana is also launching the Double Peak bottoms collection for consumers looking for a more natural feel, which is versatile, made from organic cotton with recycled polyester. The collection will be available in six men’s and five women’s bottoms. Bottoms are made with a ripstop woven fabric blend of 58 percent organic cotton and 39 percent recycled polyester in a Fair Trade Certified factory and are UPF 50+ rated.
Yoga Active
For SS23, Prana’s Yoga Active collection offers the sustainably revamped Chakara collection with a recycled nylon blend (tops: 93 percent recycled nylon/bottoms: 88 percent recycled nylon) of lightweight, stretch interlock fabric with moss face finish that is Bluesign approved, made in a Fair Trade Certified factory and is UPF 50+ rated.
The Luxara Dress, an exercise dress in the Luxar fabric collection, features a scoop neck A-line silhouette and interior shortie with a shelf bra in a 7g percent recycled nylon blend is both Bluesign approved and UPF 50+ rated.
Rounding out the collection is the Peak to Pavement bottoms and Alpenglow tops with vibrant hues in recycled polyester (bottoms: 100 percent /tops: 94 percent) made in a Fair Trade Certified factory. The collection is Bluesign approved and UPF 30+ rated.
Swimwear
The SS23 sustainable swimwear collection introduces eleven silhouettes in two fabrics—Prana’s stretch jersey and vita, are both made with Econyl regenerated nylon (jersey: 82 percent/vita: 78 percent) by its Fair Trade Certified factory partners. New prints Tropics and Flora Fauna were hand-drawn and inspired by Baja California and Mexico botanicals. The collection features a range of silhouettes, is UPF 50+ rated and is chlorine and saltwater resistant.
