Norrøna, the four-season Norwegian outdoor brand renowned for its premium, sustainably built outerwear, will open a brand store in New York City in the fall of 2019. This announcement comes after the brand opened its first U.S.-based concept store in Boulder, Colorado in May 2019. Located in the SoHo neighborhood, Norrøna’s newest concept store will feature the brand’s full assortment of technical outerwear, an apparel repair center, a community gathering space and an espresso bar.

“Launching our second brand store in New York City signifies our brands commitment to growing in the U.S. market. We deeply believe that walking over a threshold into a brand store is a vital experience for New Yorkers whether they know of Norrøna yet, or not. Every visitor will get the opportunity to learn about our brand’s steeped history and commitment to sustainable design while touching our product and learning from experts,” says U.S. Sales Manager Adam Chamberlain. “People who live in the city still want and need to get outside, experience nature, climb mountains, run and ride on trails and ski powder. This fall, those nature-hungry New Yorkers will be able to have a brand-new place to visit in the Norrøna SoHo store.”

The SoHo Concept Store is Norrøna’s second U.S. retail location. The brand currently operates a network of 28 brand stores across Scandinavia and western Europe, including Norrøna partner stores in Chamonix, France and Zermatt, Switzerland. Through the performance of this owned-retail network—which earned Norrøna the 2018 Norwegian Retailer of the Year award—Norrøna has demonstrated that branded retail helps drive regional brand awareness and sales for nearby wholesale partners.
