Mountain Safety Research (MSR), has updated its Hubba series for spring 2022. The equipment, with a freestanding design and symmetrical poles, now features a weight reduction and updated features, and all three sizes (previously Hubba NX, Hubba Hubba NX and Mutha Hubba NX) were merged under one name, Hubba Hubba.
The updated designs include up to a 14 oz reduction in weight compared to previous models. The three-season tent series now features easy-open, no-curve door zippers, tech-friendly cable ports on all storage pockets, Easton Syclone poles, and floor materials. Its mesh and fabric materials balance comfort, airflow, protection, and privacy for the widest range of conditions. The waterproof Durashield-coated fly and floors and taped seams provide weather protection and the reinforced patches and stitching at guy points add stability in windy conditions. The rectangular floor and extra headroom offer a spacious interior and ease of set up, eliminating sleeping pad overlap with its symmetrical pole design.
New for Spring 2022, MSR’s LowDown Remote Stove Adapter amplifies the performance and versatility of its top-mounted canister stoves and stove systems.
“The big advantage of the LowDown adapter is that you are able to control the stove from about a foot away from your hot burner while boiling water or simmering a meal, instead of directly underneath it,” said Scott Youmans, product line manager, MSR, Stoves, Cookware and Winter. “This makes for a much more comfortable flame adjustment experience and, in our experience, users fine-tune their flame control much more when it’s easier to do. The end result is an easier, more comfortable cooking experience.”
The brand’s Freelite tent series also received an upgrade that offers greater livability for less weight. The updated models are up to nine ounces lighter than previous models and feature easy-open, no-curve door zippers and cable ports on all storage pockets and durability and performance from DAC’s lightest weight aluminum poles and Durashield Coating.
The Hubba Hubba tent series launches at retail on January 1, 2022.
