KUIU announced the release of its redesigned Chugach TR Rain Gear Series. This is the brand’s latest offering of breathable, packable rain gear for ultralight hunting.

The streamlined design offers lower weight/bulk when packed and with the addition of Torain technology, the waterproofing, durability and breathability are increased making for unsupported backcountry hunts.

The Torain Waterproof System combines a spandex-free Primeflex face fabric with a breathable Dermizax HDM microporous hydrophobic membrane and circular knit backer to keep the wearer dry. With these updates the Chugach TR Rain Gear is “20 percent higher in tear strength, 400 percent stronger in abrasion resistance and 20 percent reduction in overall fabric weight compared to its previous version,” said KUIU.

“By incorporating this new Torain waterproofing technology into our Chugach TR Rain Gear, we were able to successfully increase the strength and abrasion resistance to ultimately create a line of rain gear that is more waterproof, stronger and lighter than ever before,” commented Kevin Wilkerson, Senior Director of Brand Marketing, KUIU. “Our goal with the Chugach line has been to reduce the weight of the product while upgrading the breathability, waterproofness and durability to ensure it meets the needs for those high demand backcountry hunts.”
