Kidswear brand Isbjörn of Sweden announced it is launching a limited edition 2022 version of its first teen ski jacket and pant, the Backflip, marking ten years since its original launch in 2012.

Maria Frykman, Founder and CEO, Isbjörn of Sweden said: “At the time my Co-founder Camilla and I were ready to get our kids into skiing. We started sketching with them based on the colors and styles they would love the most for their ski clothing. Inspired by their choices, the result turned out to be very colorful with the hind leg in a fun contrasting color. We totally went for it, and the launch was a huge success and a starting point for us as a company to market ourselves as a ski brand. Our original ski set would later become our teen collection, which accounts for 40 percent of our turnover now.”

Using the latest in sustainable materials and manufacturing for the FW22/23 season, bluesign approved materials in the Backflip Ski Jacket and Pants offer one of the legs in a contrasting color. Colors include Black, EmeraldGreen and Navy.

The Blackflip features a sustainable two-layer bluesign approved Tactel nylon waterproof outer fabric, fluorocarbon-free Bionic Finish Eco DWR and 100 percent recycled PrimaLoft insulation, made from recycled plastic bottles with no compromise on thermal performance. Both the jacket and pant are expandable in size with 3cm added to sleeves and legs.

Frykman continued: “Backflip was always ahead of its time and ‘Green at Heart’ even back in 2012 when there was very little technical or sustainable choice for teenage skiers. This milestone anniversary has meant we can bring our original teen ski set back and make the collection even more sustainable in line with the latest developments in manufacturing, materials and design as we continue to innovate and lead the sustainable outdoor kidswear market.”
