Gothenburg, Sweden (April 8, 2025) – Icebug, the Swedish footwear company known for developing shoes with world-leading grip, is thrilled to partner with the United States Luge Association (USA Luge) as the organization’s premier off-track footwear supplier for the 2025-2026 season.
The icy areas surrounding luge tracks have long posed a hazard to anybody who steps near the course. Thanks to Icebug’s renowned BUGrip studded shoe technology, members of USA Luge can now count on grip in places they used to slip.
“One of our primary goals at Icebug is to create high-traction footwear that allow active individuals to spend time outside, any time of the year, and in any conditions, without needing to worry about slipping or falling,” said Icebug USA marketing coordinator Teagan Bowar. “We know that luge athletes, coaches, and support staff are constantly crossing icy tracks and starting areas, and this partnership is a testament of how strongly these extreme athletes believe in our footwear as a traction product. If they can stand up to the ice of luge tracks, then we know they can perform anywhere!”
Through the new partnership, Icebug USA will provide footwear to all athletes, coaches, and support staff at USA Luge for use whenever they are not racing.
“We did a lot of research to find the right winter boots for our athletes,” said USA Luge Marketing Manager Yuliia Tyshevych. “Our athletes and coaches spend a significant amount of time walking on and in the frozen luge track, in the snow and on variably changing surfaces, so the most important feature we’ve been searching for is traction. When we discovered that Icebug has dynamic studs, we felt that it would be a perfect fit, and knew we had to pursue a partnership.”
In addition to providing world-class traction, Icebug’s winter footwear provides the warmth, waterproofing, and comfort that individuals spending hundreds of hours outdoors in the winter need to focus on their work and goals, all without worrying about what’s on their feet.
