Gregory Mountain Products redesigned its duffel collections and launched two ski packs in fall 2023. The updated Alpaca and Supply Duffels offer travel features for hauling gear. In the ski category, the company introduced the Verte, a resort-specific ski pack with an elastic hipbelt, and the women’s Targhee backcountry ski pack.

Updates to the Alpaca Duffel include water-resistant TPU coating on 40 percent recycled 900D polyester. An expandable zippered end pocket separates dirty clothes or shoes and a packing cube doubles for packing and storing the duffel. Removable shoulder straps and interior mesh pockets keep essentials organized.

The lighter Supply Duffel in a 40 percent recycled 600D polyester includes padded tuck-away shoulder straps for carrying heavy loads and large T-grip zipper pullers for gear access. For storage, the duffel packs down into its front zippered pocket.

The Alpaca and Supply Duffels come in four capacities ranging from 40- to 120-liters. And by using a “lifecycle analysis tool,” Gregory reduced the carbon footprint of each duffel “by 56 percent (Alpaca 60) to 59 percent (Supply 65).”

For skiing, The Verte chair lift-friendly design has minimal straps, and Gregory’s CloudControl flexible hipbelt offers movement on the descent. Similar to a goggle strap, the elasticized webbing on the hipbelt stretches with the direction of your hips with support for the lower back. The back panel sheds snow to prevent build-up, with diagonal and A-frame ski and snowboard carry options. The Verte is available in 12- and 18-liters.

The women’s Targhee, available in 24- and 30-liters, adds to the Targhee family of backcountry ski packs. The pack’s design fits a woman’s body with a revised harness and hipbelt to support the load on a women’s skeletal structure. The Vertflex suspension system has a perimeter alloy frame for vertical stability while maintaining flexibility for movement due to a flexible frame panel and anti-barreling cross stays. Backcountry-specific details include the snow shedding back panel, U-zip entry for access to your gear, diagonal and A-frame ski carry, and front avalanche safety pocket with helmet carry. Using a life cycle analysis tool, Gregory was able to “reduce the carbon footprint of each new pack by 33 percent (women’s Targhee 24) to 35 percent (Verte 18).

The Alpaca and Supply Duffels will be available at retail in July 2023, and the Verte and women’s Targhee will be available in September 2023. For more product information, go here
