WEST LEBANON, N.H. (October 12, 2021) – Blizzard Tecnica, top-performing heritage brands in alpine and backcountry ski equipment, are proud to announce the addition of four PSIA National Team members to their roster of elite instructors. The signing of these respected professionals reaffirms the brands’ position as trusted leaders in their categories, with seven of the 16 PSIA National Team members now exclusively skiing Blizzard Tecnica products – a proportion far greater than any other manufacturer.
The desire from this community of local, committed skiers to ski Blizzard Tecnica speaks to the quality of the products across all disciplines. With deep alpine roots in Austrian ski-making and Italian boot-making, the brands’ product-lines have evolved over time, engineering specifically designed equipment for specific skier needs, from front side, to all-mountain, to freeride, to backcountry.
“I’m excited to continue our long-standing partnership with PSIA-AASI and increase our commitment to the PSIA National Team athletes,” said Joe Sipe, Pro & Freeride Programs Manager. “Skiing is a life-long journey that provides awesome outdoor experiences for the entire family, and it all starts with some form of education or inspiration. The instructors of PSIA-AASI and the National Team members are on the front lines of providing the best education opportunities and are responsible for creating skiers for life. They are truly important to the longevity of the ski industry as a whole.”
The newly signed team members include George Flynn (Jackson Hole), Bart Flynn (Jackson Hole), Mike Hafer (Breckenridge), and Troy Walsh (Sunday River), who join the existing team – Brenna Kelleher (Big Sky), Stephen Helfenbein (Deer Valley), Gregory Dixon (Mt Bachelor), and Jonathan Ballou (Aspen Snowmass). While their locations, backgrounds, and specializations vary, there is a common theme they all share – Blizzard Tecnica’s long-standing reputation for performance and innovation are what have earned the trust of the instructor community.
“The opportunity to align with the best ski and boot brand in the business is humbling,” said Helfenbein. “Skiers that want the best go with Blizzard and Tecnica. I chose this gear when I was free to choose any equipment, and as a member of the Blizzard Tecnica family I am confident that the gear I will be encouraging clients and friends to use will exceed their expectations.”
Explained Walsh, “I have been skiing on Tecnica boots since 1999 and have always loved the innovative products the company develops. I started skiing Blizzard in 2007, and once again innovative products drew me to the company. I love the trend of always pushing the envelope to develop better products for all aspects of skiing, and can’t wait to see what come.”
