Steamboat Springs, CO, January 17, 2020 – Big Agnes, the Steamboat Springs-based outdoor brand, announces a redesign of its 2020 Apparel Collection. Already recognized as a leader in product innovation and responsible sourcing, the new apparel collection will use highly durable, abrasion resistant, performance-oriented materials, many of which are bluesign® Certified. The entire collection features new styles and colorways with designs targeted to specific activities and consumer needs.

“The driving forces behind the design of the new collection was to make a good product, lessen our impact, stay warm outside and look good while doing it,” Said Sally House, Product Designer at Big Agnes. “Working with sustainably sourced, high quality materials is a huge part of that initiative.”

Big Agnes partnered with Sustainable Down Source to create transparency in down sourcing for its down products. Every down apparel model (and all 2020 down sleeping bags) will include a Downtracker tag that allows consumers, via QR code, to view the origin story, certifications and properties of the down inside the product. The down line also uses DownTek™ Water Repellent Down, which is RDS certified and bluesign® Certified PFOA and PFOS free.

Key styles in the collection include:

  • Men’s Soda Peak and Women’s Teal Lake Jackets: Using 850 Fill Power DownTek™ water resistant down, these ultralight jackets have an athletic fit with body mapped vertical quilting, ensuring the down stays close to the body without comprising mobility.
  • Men’s Shovelhead and Women’s Luna Jackets: These regular fit jackets allow room for layering, while the body mapped vertical and horizontal quilting prevents the 700 FP DownTek™ from shifting.

Also new are the brand’s synthetic apparel models, which feature several different high performing and thermal efficient insulations, including PrimaLoft Gold Active®, Pinneco Mantle™, Pinneco Core® and Big Agnes’ proprietary FireLine™ ECO Synthetic insulation. These insulations range from 45 to 100 percent recycled content.

Key styles from the synthetic line include:

  • Men’s Barrows and Women’s Larkspur Jackets: Pinneco Core® insulation in the front torso boosts body warmth and optimizes dryness while Pinneco Mantle™ on the back and sleeves provides structural support with minimal quilt lines.
  • Men’s Smokin’ Axle and Women’s Crystal Jackets: Breathable four-way stretch lining and PrimaLoft® Gold Active Insulation on back and side panels allow for maximized range of motion and body temperature regulation.

Using a combination of the trackable down and recycled insulation, the Base Camp Down options – the Men’s Freighter and Women’s Trudy jackets – will use 600 Fill Power DownTek™ plus 100 percent recycled FireLine™ ECO insulation. In addition to being insulated with premium down and synthetic insulation materials, the majority of the 2020 Apparel Collection’s lining and shell fabrics are constructed with Global Recycled Standard (GRS) post-consumer and post-industrial recycled materials.
