Balega officially opened its application portal for its sixth annual Impi ambassador team. Applications will be accepted through December 6, 2020.
For 2021, applicants from around the world are welcome to enter to spotlight the brand’s core pillars – performance, excellence, harmony, creativity, and community.
The 2021 team will consist of athletes from the U.S., South Africa, Canada, Australia, and the UK.
By using social media channels and race and event presence, these endurance athletes will be tasked to help spread the Balega messaging, talk with their run communities about Balega products and position the brand as a leader to them in the run specialty category.
To align with Balega’s give-back initiatives, ambassadors will also be asked to establish their own personal way of giving back to their local communities.
Impi is a Zulu word roughly translating to mean “warrior.” The ambassadors who are selected to join the team will act as an army of Balega warriors or “Impis” representing the brand’s core values and sharing the brand’s South African heritage and “sole.” Impis will assist with new product launches and spread the Balega brand message within their local communities. In turn, the Impis receive socks during the year and benefit other product categories from Implus’ collection of brands.

The application process opens today until December 6, 2020. Applicants will be notified in mid-January. Interested athletes should apply here.
