Polartec LLC is partnering with Eastern Mountain Sports to host an immersive educational experience aimed at educating consumers about cutting-edge technical garments composed of recycled fabrics.
“We want consumers to examine the ingredients in their clothing with as much scrutiny as they do the ingredients in their food,” said Polartec CEO Gary Smith. “The Harvard Square takeover will showcase amazing garments made with recycled fabrics alongside fun activities for a family-friendly adventure.”
Polartec is an Oeko-Tex 100 and Bluesign AG certified company that has been a longtime proponent of eco-conscious manufacturing techniques and recently celebrated recycling its billionth bottle.
Polartec’s Harvard Square takeover will take place this weekend (Sept. 26-27) at the Eastern Mountain Sports store located on 1 Brattle Square in Cambridge, MA.
In the past, consumers had to sacrifice technical performance for eco-consciousness but that is no longer the case as major brands like Eastern Mountain Sports create garments able to handle the worst weather on the planet with recycled fabrics. People visiting the Cambridge Eastern Mountain Sports store can check out Polartec’s sidewalk chalk art, receive free gifts made from recycled materials and see how many plastic bottles it takes to create a garment.
Recycled garments will be clearly marked and Eastern Mountain Sports will be offering $15 off any in-store purchase of $75 or more.
