Longworth Industries, parent company of Polarmax and PMX technical base layers, has formed a partnership with Dean Cummings and H2O Guides, based in Valdez, AK, to be the official base layer for all H2O Guides sanctioned activities through Spring 2013.

To combat the extreme conditions Cummings and his staff face every day, they will exclusively wear Polarmax and PMX base layers products, allowing them to stay dry, warm and comfortable, even in hair-raising terrain and the most inhospitable weather.

Cummings, World Champion skier, Alaska heli ski and mountaineering pioneer and world-class year-round guide, is no stranger to long days in extreme elements that only Alaska can deliver. Alternating between charging and waiting can be a death sentence to those ill-prepared in the glaciated, snowy mountains skiing and ice climbing, extremely variable conditions for Pacific Ocean fishing, and wet, rainy rainforest hunting in the Chugach Range. “One of the most important things you want to be prepared for is changing weather conditions and the possibility of being outside for a while in nasty weather,” says Cummings.  “As guides, we're outside all day, every day.  When your life depends on it, you need to stay either warm and dry or cool and dry.”  Cummings continued, “Polarmax's super wicking fabric moves moisture away before we even realize we're sweating, and the soft, comfortable insulation keeps us warm, or cool so we can function at our peak levels to keep our clients safe and having fun.”

“Teaming up with H2O Guides was a natural move for Polarmax,” said Roger Maxey, National Director of Sales for Polarmax. “Dean and his team have not only been pioneers of the Alaska Heli ski movement, but they‘ve been leading the charge on education and safety as the only accredited mechanized ski guide school in the US.”  Maxey continued, “I've been watching Dean execute first-descents for years.  His dedication to the sport, lifestyle and the environment set an example for us all, and Polarmax is proud to be part of the H2O Guide Team.”

As part of the agreement, Polarmax will supply base layers to the entire H2O guide staff, and H2O Guides will assist in product R&D, and will create footage of Polarmax and PMX products in use, in the environment they were designed for.  Check in to The Lodge on www.Polarmax.com for updates and vids.  H2O Guides will use and represent Polarmax at each of their destinations, for all activities including skiing, mountaineering, hunting, fishing and kayaking.
