PickleballCentral said it completed the acquisition of Pickle-ball, Inc. in an asset acquisition transaction between the companies.
PickleballCentral’s parent company will be renamed to Pickleball, Inc. and the new company will operate under the Pickleball, Inc. corporate name.
“By combining the two organizations, this transaction helps both PickleballCentral and Pickle-ball, Inc. achieve their respective goals, while creating a new entity that can better serve both the industry and the sport at large,” shared David McCallum, president of Pickle-ball, Inc. “Over 50 years ago, our family founded Pickle-ball, Inc. to help transition the backyard game we helped create into a real sport with world class products. We have worked very closely with PickleballCentral for over 10 years, and feel that they are the best possible partner to carry forward our brand and our community efforts.”
“We are humbled and proud to be associated with the Pickle-ball, Inc. brand. The McCallum family was instrumental to the creation of the Pickleball industry because of their innovation, hard work and commitment,” said PickleballCentral Co-Founder David Johnson. “We are excited to take over the legacy of Pickleball within the industry, and help serve the millions of players who are now playing this exciting sport.”
Under the terms of the deal, product, distribution, sales, accounting and customer service will relocate to the Kent, Washington, headquarters of PickleballCentral. Business operations will be uninterrupted by the transaction. As part of the re-branding of PickleballCentral into Pickle-ball, Inc., the company will operate two divisions.
One division will be devoted to retail sales operations, including the retail websites PickleballCentral.com, PickleballPaddlesPlus.com and Pickleball.com. A second division will be devoted to wholesale and distribution operations of Pickle-ball and PickleballCentral branded products.
