PHIT America, the advocacy organization, will hold a webinar Thursday, August
13, exploring the ‘Inactivity Pandemic,’ what is causing it, the
ramifications of the declining sports participation numbers, what PHIT
America is doing to reverse these trends, and what others can do.

The webinar, to be held at 2:00 PM (Eastern) and sign up is here.

According to recent research from Sports Marketing Surveys, the entire sports industry will be facing a revenue deficit of $20 billion by 2020 – less than five years from now — if the ‘Inactivity Pandemic’ is not stabilized or reversed.

“Simply put, active Americans spend on average $900 per year on sports & fitness products. An inactive person only spends $200. As more and more Americans become inactive, this reduces overall consumption,” states Jim Baugh, Founder of PHIT America.  “Every company can fight for increased share as they should. However, we must grow the pie and reverse the ‘Inactivity Pandemic.’ ”

“Now is the time to invest in PHIT America which is actively engaged on many different levels to reverse the status quo,” says Baugh.  “Our webinar will be an eye-opening experience for all those in attendance.”

Founded in January 2013, PHIT America (www.PHITAmerica.org) is a non-profit educational, social media, and advocacy campaign focused on overcoming the ‘Inactivity Pandemic’ in America by creating a Movement for a Fit & Healthy America.  More than 130 companies, along with sports ambassadors and celebrities, are helping PHIT America to get Americans more active, fit and healthier.
