PHIT America – the non-profit education and advocacy organization designed to combat the nation’s inactivity and obesity crisis – announces three new celebrity ambassadors. The additions include professional track athlete Keith Ricks, former U.S. Rowing coxswain and two-time world champion Ned DelGuercio, and two-time Olympian with U.S. Rowing and current coach at Georgetown University Giuseppe Lanzone.

They join a team of 25 all-star celebrity ambassadors. Each PHIT America team member is selected due to a common vision of creating “A Movement for a Fit and Healthy America” through education on the importance of an active lifestyle to improve overall health.

Ricks, a former NCAA All-American and U.S. National Team member, is currently competing and he has always stressed the importance of being active both on-and-off the track.

“It is important to incorporate physical fitness into your daily routine, whether it is a strenuous workout or simply going for a walk,” says Ricks. “Obesity in America is continuously growing and I'm proud to be a voice through PHIT America to encourage a healthier way of living.”

Since its January 2013 launch, more than 150 leading companies and associations from the sports, fitness, retail and media industries have contributed funds and services to support PHIT America.

“Approximately 80 million Americans are sedentary, a number that has increased steadily over the last five years,” says Jim Baugh, Founder of PHIT America and a 2011 inductee into the Sporting Goods Industry Hall of Fame. “Similar to these three athletes, we encourage the sports and fitness industry to get their celebrity endorsers to join the PHIT America team.”
