Perry Ellis International saw overall revenues improve 8.3% to $232 million for the fourth quarter; however, for the full year, total revenues declined 2.3% to $829.8 million from $849.4 million last year.

On a conference call with analysts, management said that the current swim season, which lasts from Q4 of fiscal 2007 through Q2 of fiscal 2008, is driving a 15% increase in revenues for the company’s swim division. The gains were attributed to “the strong momentum of NIKE” as well as positive performances from the company’s other brands. Discussing the action sports brands, management said that “Gotcha, Redsand and MCD experienced significant sales growth, both in –[the] fourth quarter and full fiscal 2007 periods.”

Also occurring in the action sports division, the company, through its wholly-owned subsidiary PEI Licensing Inc., entered into a new licensing agreement with ES Apparel Group Inc. for its Gotcha brand to launch a Boys' and Girls' collection for fall 2007.
