Pelican International Inc., which manufactures leisure and angler kayaks, SUPs, canoes and pedal boats, has appointed Marie-Christine Piedboeuf as President, effective Sept. 1, 2015.

Piedboeuf joined Pelican International in 2000 and had been serving as Vice-President of Operations for several years. Since her arrival at Pelican International, her contributions have been felt across several departments such as Research and Development, Manufacturing, Quality Control and Marketing.

“I am excited to take on this new role with Pelican International, and I am committed to maintaining our current meteoric growth by ensuring the improvement of our manufacturing efficiency and production capacity. This includes the purchase of new production equipment, as well as the opening of a second factory in the near future,” stated  Piedboeuf.

Prior to arriving at Pelican International, Piedboeuf served as Materials Specialist in Advanced Research at Bauer Nike. A self-described outdoors enthusiast, Ms. Piedboeuf has a PhD in composite plastic materials from Montreal’s Polytechnic School of Engineering.
