Peak, the Chinese sportswear company, has signed Houston Rockets' center Dwight Howard to an endorsement deal. Howard had been with Adidas.
Other NBA players sponsored by Peak are Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs and Chandler Parsons of the Dallas Mavericks.
Adidas was said to have focused more on younger players such as Damian Lillard and John Wall last year after Howard departed from Orlando and Los Angeles. Derrick Rose, who continued to be plagued by injuries last year, also remained a key focus. Howard’s exit also comes as Adidas signed James Harden away from Nike in a $200 million contract.
