Peak Design, a leader in crowdfunding and manufacturer of everyday carry solutions, achieved Certified B Corporation (B Corp) status. The rigorous certification process verifies that Peak Design considers social and environmental impact in all business decisions, promotes consumer transparency and is accountable to employees and partners within their supply chain. Peak Design is committed to using its business as a force for good and in doing so joins over 3,200 companies across 150 different industries and 71 countries that have also become Certified B Corps.
To become a Certified B Corp, Peak Design completed a rigorous assessment and vetting process administered by the independent non-profit B Lab. Obtaining the certification helped Peak Design enhance its already robust Corporate Social Responsibility program. “Peak Design can always be improving, and B Corp provides a thorough framework for assessing all facets of our business — including many we had never considered,” commented Annie Nyborg, Peak Design’s Sustainability Director. “Formalizing our efforts allows us to better track and bolster our performance.”
As a Founding member of Climate Neutral Certified, a non-profit that helps businesses measure, reduce, and offset a company’s carbon footprint, Peak Design firmly believes business accountability to the earth, its customers and each other. Nyborg continued, “Consumers should have the ability to vote with their dollars by purchasing from responsible brands. In turn, businesses should feel the economic heat to clean up their acts.”
In addition to being 100-percent Certified Climate Neutral, Peak Design has adopted official standards for worker treatment, pay, safety, and conditions at all of its partner factories, and is a proud member of 1% For The Planet.
