Eileen Fisher, the women’s apparel brand, hired Lisa Williams, the former chief product officer at Patagonia, as CEO, replacing founder Eileen Fisher.
Fisher founded the brand in 1984 and continues working with Williams in product design and brand development. She is also retaining her seat as board chair.
At Patagonia, Williams was promoted to chief product officer in 2015, managing the processes from design to production, merchandising and inventory. At Eileen Fisher, she runs operations, accounting for sustainable growth and responsible business practices.
“Delivering appropriate growth within a circular business model that finds the right balance between producing and selling new product alongside used and repurposed is the challenge for all of us,” Williams told Vogue. “Eileen Fisher has an authentic and long-time passion for doing business the right way, and today’s customers are looking to support businesses rooted in responsibility.”
