Patagonia is now allowing consumers to mail in their used Patagonia clothing for credit as part of its Worn Wear program. Previously, customers had to bring the Patagonia products they are no longer using to their local Patagonia store.

The Worn Wear credit can be used toward purchases in Patagonia retail stores, on WornWear.com and Patagonia.com.  The Worn Wear sustainability program launched in 2017.

According to the guidelines for the Mail In Trade part of the Worn Wear program:

“We accept used Patagonia clothing that functions perfectly and is in good condition. When you bring us your quality, used Patagonia gear we’ll give you credit that can be used in Patagonia retail stores, on WornWear.com and Patagonia.com. Please note that items will not be returned to customers and $10 will be deducted from your trade in value to account for shipping and handling. Items without garment tags or that are not in good working condition will not receive any trade in value and will not be returned.

“There are few important steps to mail in trade in:

1. Inspect your gear and make sure that what you’re sending us is within the scope of the program (check out what we accept HERE)
2. Walk through the online process to make sure your gear is not an accessory or next-to-skin item, and that it is functional for the next user.
3. Print the shipping label and ship us your gear. We will deduct $10 from the credit that you receive for your gear for shipping and handling.
4. We’ll send you a credit for any gear that meets the program’s requirements, but we won’t issue credit for everything and will not send gear back to customers.”
