Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. announced that Tim Harmon will be retiring from the company after almost 14 years of service, most recently as president and chief merchandising officer.

“We appreciate the incredible job that Tim has done in helping grow Pacific Sunwear into one of the largest specialty retailers in the world,” commented Chief Executive Officer Seth Johnson. “He has played a critical role in the development and success of our business. We wish him the best in his retirement,” Johnson concluded.

Harmon's retirement is effective July 1, 2005. His merchandising responsibilities will be assumed by the company's division presidents.

PSUN also announced that Reenie Benziger has been appointed to the position of executive vice president of merchandising for the company's PacSun division.

“We are very excited to have Reenie join us in this position,” commented Chief Executive Officer Seth Johnson. “With her extensive merchandising experience and successful track record in specialty retail, we are confident she will play a major role in the continued growth and success of the PacSun business.”

Prior to joining Pacific Sunwear, Benziger held various merchandising positions with Gap and its related divisions. Her 17 years at the Gap included, most recently, the position of senior vice president merchandising and planning for Gap Europe and senior vice president kids and baby merchandising for Old Navy.

Benziger will report to Tom Kennedy, division president of PacSun.
