Pacific Cycle hired Jennifer Schwai to serve as Pacific’s Director of IBD Marketing as she returns to the bike industry. In this new role, Schwai will lead strategic marketing initiatives for the GT Bicycles brand and oversee the Schwinn and Mongoose brands in the global IBD channel.

“Jenni is a great fit with the Pacific Cycle team,” said Pacific Cycle President and CEO, Jeff Frehner. “2007 is shaping up to be a great year, with our IBD numbers on a steady climb. Jenni brings talent, drive and focus to a role that is critical to our continued success in the IBD, and we’re very pleased to have her on board.”

“It's great to be back in the cycling industry and I'm very pleased to work with Pacific Cycle and its array of strong brands,” said Schwai. “I'm excited to help the team take GT, Schwinn and Mongoose to the next level in the IBD channel.”

Prior to joining the Pacific Cycle team, Schwai was a brand manager at fitness equipment manufacturer Horizon Fitness, where she developed product and brand strategies for the mass, warehouse club and department store distribution channels.

Schwai previously led the Women's Specific Design (WSD) business at Trek Bicycles, where her focus on the retail sales experience – rather than product alone – resulted in a double-digit sales increase.

Schwai holds an MBA from UC-Berkeley and an undergraduate degree in journalism from UW-Madison. She’ll start at Pacific in early June, following a visit to the Giro d’Italia.
