OutsidePR, which provides media relations and marketing services for outdoor and active market clients, brought back Devon (Sibole) Malizia as an account manager and promoted Jess Smith to a new position as the company’s first vice president.
Malizia joined OutsidePR in 2008 as an account coordinator, handling clients like Sugoi, Pearl Izumi, AlterG and DownTek. After five years with OutsidePR she launched Devo, a mom-nutrition business, and is now re-entering the outdoor industry.
“I left the outdoor industry with every intention of returning,” said Malizia, “but timing was a big factor. OutsidePR has an incredibly progressive culture for working moms, so I’m excited to be back on board.” She will help craft the public relations and communication strategies for Ultimate Direction, Kora, Injinji and Sustainable Down Source.
After three years at OutsidePR managing Red Bull, Buff, AlterG, Sustainable Down Source and Cotopaxi, Jess Smith has been named vice president.
“We wouldn’t be the agency we are today without the work Devon did for us for so many years,” said Gordon Wright, president and founder of OutsidePR. “And elevating Jess Smith to the newly-created role of vice president is another meaningful step for OutsidePR. It reflects our recent growth, but also recognizes Jess’ importance to the agency.”
