Outdoor Vitals, the Utah-based performance brand, released lightweight apparel pieces created for backpackers. The Skyline Trail Shorts is the centerpiece along with the Altitude Performance Tee.
“The whole team at Outdoor Vitals is obsessed with the trail,” said Tayson Whittaker, founder of Outdoor Vitals. “We hike on them, we run on them, and occasionally we nap on them. But through all of our adventures, we’ve been left, well, chafed about something. We needed better shorts, specifically for our high mileage and multi-day adventures. So, our team worked tirelessly to develop a model that can keep up with the demands of extended trips in the backcountry. The result is the Skyline Trail Shorts, a pair of shorts that gives runners and hikers the protection and support needed for arduous expeditions.”
Designed with input from thru-hikers and runners, the Skyline Trail Shorts come in two versions—one without a liner and the other with a jersey mesh brief liner. Both feature two hip pockets with an internal key/card pocket. The full crotch gusset and side panels are made with a knit mesh. The shorts have an 8-inch inseam and a slightly lower back that does not impede the knee’s movement during activity.
The quick-drying, moisture-wicking Altitude Performance Tee comes in long- and short-sleeve versions.
